Larry L. Thomas, a 30-year-old Philadelphia resident, was the "ringleader" of a drug-running operation that stretched to Centre County, according to prosecutors.

“This defendant directed a network of co-conspirators to distribute poisons in the State College area — even continuing to pull the strings while he was incarcerated,” said AG Henry in a statement.

“These addictive substances take lives and destroy communities. Thanks to the hard work of our office, our law enforcement partners, and the members of the Grand Jury, this man is being held accountable for his crimes.”

From mid-2021 until early last year, Thomas' organization ran fentanyl and other drugs for retail in and around State College, authorities said. Grand Jury testimony indicated that the group was moving up to one pound of methamphetamine per month, according to prosecutors.

A pound of meth and an undisclosed quantity of fentanyl were recovered from Thomas's home during a search, the Attorney General's Office said.

Thomas was given 12.5 to 25 years at his sentencing hearing on Monday. Feb. 5, per the release.
